WEDO & Feminist Action Nexus | Structural feminist analysis of macroeconomic trends

Shared Planet works with WEDO and the Feminist Action Nexus to explore how macroeconomic trends impact gender and climate justice.

The Women’s Environment & Development Organization (WEDO) is a global women’s advocacy organization. Their vision is for “a just world that promotes and protects human rights, gender equality and the integrity of the environment.” The Feminist Action Nexus for Economic and Climate Justice (2021-2023) was co-convened by WEDO, alongside the Women’s Working Group on Financing for Development (WWG-FFD), FEMNET (The African Women’s Development and Communication Network), and the Pan-African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA).

Shared Planet has worked with WEDO and the Feminist Action Nexus to publish an annual Trends Report on key macroeconomic trends contributing to or obstructing feminist economic and climate justice in the areas of the Feminist Action Nexus’s seven key demands in systems change, debt, global economic governance, tax, trade, corporate capture, and climate finance.

From June 2023 to December 2023, we drafted the Trends Report and supported with communications assets for its promotion. We also spoke at the external launch webinar for the report in January 2024. In July 2024, Shared Planet began work on the second Trends Report, which was released in December 2024.
