Helen Williams

Helen Williams (she/her/hers) is a Consultant at Shared Planet where she focuses on climate law and policy. She has worked on issues ranging from policy advocacy for animals, a fundraising campaign for sustainable cities initiatives, and justice-led conservation initiatives. Her client work has involved developing stakeholder analysis, creating advocacy campaigns, and coordinating a network of public affairs professionals.
Prior to joining, she interned for the U.S. Department of State, supporting international environmental diplomacy projects, and the Los Angeles Mayor's Office of Sustainability, advocating for policy to increase urban biodiversity. She has qualitative research experience from her time as a research assistant at the USC Security and Political Economy Lab, examining the linkages between natural resources and civil conflict. Helen holds a MPhil in Anthropocene Studies from the University of Cambridge, completing her dissertation on the legal rights of nature in the UK. She holds a BA in International Relations from the University of Southern California.
